SATURDAY: WORKSHOP TENT

10am – Mark TamsulaPennsylvania Fiddle Tunes

Between 1928 and 1963, Samuel Bayard and his collaborators traveled throughout southwestern Pennsylvania visiting over 100 musicians, collecting and transcribing over 1000 traditional folk tunes.  Mark has been spreading these delightful tunes far & wide at festivals, jams and albums & tunes on his website.  


1pm – Harry Bolick – Chords for fiddle (and mandolin) players.

 

For backing up another fiddlers, for harmony and most useful, for grabbing a new tune quicker.

We’ll run through a couple of tunes, map the chords and look at the chord shapes and see how the tune weaves through them.

3pm – Marge & Tony Sume – Old Time Songs

Best known for their welcoming jam sessions that include SONGS, Marge & Tony will have a great selection of  Old Time Songs, many of which are the “Old Time” Fiddle tunes we play today.  Come join the fun, sing and play along. They will have handouts!!
