Think like a drummer,<\/b><\/p>\n

As a fiddler you carry the melody but you are also a drummer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The basic building block is one beat, which can be played with one of 8 basic rhythms.<\/p>\n

Lets take each rhythm and see how it can be combined into patterns that you can vary to spice up the melody and backup chords in a tune like Spotted Pony.<\/p>\n

Best known for their welcoming jam sessions that include SONGS, Marge & Tony will have a great selection of \u00a0Old Time Songs, many of which are the “Old Time” Fiddle tunes we play today. \u00a0Come join the fun, sing and play along. They will have handouts!!<\/p>\n

Gospel Sing – Annie Trimble<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Annie Trimble has lead the Song Tent and participated in Gospel Sings at the West Virginia State Folk Festival for many years.<\/p>\n

We’ll be singing great old gospel songs from Heavenly Highway Hymns, Carter Family, and bluegrass\/country traditions. Words will be provided.<\/p>\n
